QuestionHi,
I droped my car off at aamco because it was having engine problems. It was closed at the time, and they said they had a key drop.
I later found out that it was towed because the aamco I went to shared a building with somone who just moved in (no obvious markings on the building), and I had actually parked in thier parking lot. The sign there was a normal customer parking one with no business name on it.
First off, is there any way I can get out of having to pay the tow given the situation. The business that towed it is unwilling to pay the tow.
Secondly, if I must pay the tow, is there any way I would be able to find out what is wrong with the car before paying for it. I don't to pay the tow on a car that I will just junk because the repairs are too much. I am poor and would much rath deal with collections.
And third, even though I don't plan on paying the tow, am I legaly allowed access to my car to remove items from it. The tow company has been very uncooperative, so I hope I am leggaly allowed access to it even if they would rather I couldn't.
Thanks,
Jared
AnswerSorry but I am going to have to pass on this question.
From my take it sounds like the Aamco and the other business need to work something out first.
But I can understand your concerns on paying for a vehicle if its not worth it.
BUT I have to side with the towing company also, as they did provide a service and therefore need to be paid.
Differant states have differant laws regarding the personal property in the vehicle.
Sorry but I really see no answers here for you .
