Towing Issues: towing a dinghy, jeep liberty, braking system

Can I tow a Jeep Liberty 2006 behind my Motorhome which has a hitch rated at 3500#?

Answer
NO!  Your Jeep Liberty has a curb weight of over 4000#.  This would exceed your hitch rating.  

You will need to has a larger capacity hitch (5000# or better) installed on the motorhome.  Also I would look into the towing regulations for the areas you plan to tow through.  Most states and provinces require a braking system on the towed vehicle if it is over 3000#.
