Towing Issues: towing - tongue weight, tongue weight, motorcycle trailer

Question
what's a good  (min/max)  tongue weight on a single axle 12x8 motorcycle trailer - pulled by either a Suburban or 1/2 ton p/up ?

well

this one is a bit hard to answer.  The tongue weight is figured with the trailers weight, and the cargo it is carrying. A trailer with a load of feathers will have a lighter weight than a trailer with a load of lead.  

You should also consider the towing capacity of the vehicle that is towing the trailer.
