Toyota Repair: 1997 Toyota Tacoma, timing, belt
QuestionWe are trying to change the water pump in a 1997 Toyota Tacoma. We are to the point of removing the chrank shaft pully and can not wedge anything in the fly wheel to keep the engine from turning
AnswerGet a socket that fits the bolt and place a long extension on it that is wedged against the floor or frame. Now, "bump" the ignition; do not start the truck! Bumping the ignition will allow the crankshaft to spin while your wrench (and therefore your blot) are stationery. This will loosen your crankshaft bolt!
