Toyota Repair: 2001 Toyota Tacoma Flowmaster Muffler, flowmaster muffler, gas mileage

Ted,  My son is wanting to put a series 50 Flowmaster Muffler on his 2001 Toyota Tacoma, Prerunner, 3.4L V6, 2wd.  Do you think it is worth it?  He wants the sound to be a little better and maybe help the gas mileage.

This is strictly a matter of personal choice, I don't know whether it's worth it, if you can afford to have it put on then go ahead, yes the sound will be different but I don't know if the mileage is improved,maybe a small amount, it's possible but I have no data on that.
