2005 Toyota Corolla failed emissions test due to trouble
code P2716.  What is code P2716 and what type of repair
should I expect?  85,000 miles- no prior issues other than
normal maintenance.

This code is related to the computer logic, there is an updated computer available to remedy this, toyota had issued a service bulletin #(TC015-07) it involves replacing the ECM, the warranty period is 8yrs/80,000 miles, I would contact the toyota dealer asap and find out if they are willing to still cover it since there is a bulletin for it.
