Toyota Repair: ecm, toyota corolla, distributor cap

my 1990 toyota corolla dies with no spark i changed the ecm and it started right away can it be the ground or bad connection ay the ecm

So the engine started but doesn't run anymore is this correct? There are a lot of problems with the distributors on these engines, remove the distributor cap and rotor then remove the coil cover and check the coil for any cracks, if the coil looks ok replace the entire distributor.
