Toyota Repair: 1992 Paseo Distributor, amp fuses, pickup coil

I have a 92 paseo with something defective in the distributor and want to know if the electrical parts can be replaced without buying a new dist. if so where can i buy the pickup and other parts. Thanks

First of all, are you sure that's where the problem is? No spark at the plug wire?
There are only a couple of things that are easily replaced
in a Toyota distributor. Your problem is either the capacitor
or the pickup coil. If the capacitor has shorted out it won't start
because it keeps blowing a 30 or 50 amp fuses. I realize new distributors are very expensive. I recommend (we do this a lot)
picking up a used distributor at a local junk yard or off the Internet.
