Toyota Repair: 99 solara p0300, o2 sensors, fuel injectors
Questionmy solara is throwing multiple cyclinder misfire along with misfire cycl2 and misfire cycl6. also gives a p0153/p0133. what does it mean when these codes are on at the same times. can it be just a coilplug. the motor runs rough only at idle. also bogs down after it starts to run rough. after steady gas and driving it runs fine until i stop at a red light again. the o2 sensors are new along with a fuel filter and spark plugs.
AnswerFirst check the spark plugs, this engine uses three coils on the front bank of the engine (bank two) each coil fires two cylinders, cylinders #1+4, 2+5 and 3+6, the coils are on cylinders 2,4,6, so it would make sense that coil #4 is good but keep in mind that a failure of the #2 and #6 coil would also cause a misfire of cylinders #3 and 5 but that's not the case, the other codes are caused by the misfire and can be ignored until the misfire is fixed. Toyota had also issued a service bulletin concerning cylinder misfires, there were some problems with the fuel injectors, if you would like a copy please reply to me at <
