hello ted i need to replace the left hand cv on my wifes 93 toyota corolla seca it is a 1.8 auto i have the shaft undone but i am having trouble removing the end from the gearbox any help you give will b greatly appreaciated

The axle shaft will come out by prying it out with two large prybars, by applying equal pressure to both sides of the inner cv joint between the transmission and the cv joint, it helps sometimes to rotate the axle a little and it should be held straight so get someone to help hold the axle straight and rotate it.
