Toyota Repair: 2002 Tacoma code P0304, crankshaft position sensor, spark plug wire

My V6 Tacoma recently lost power and the check engine light came on.  It also has a problem idling like is about to choke off.  I took it to a local service station and had them do a reading.  It showed a reading code P0304, a crankshaft position sensor malfunction.  I was wandering if the signs and symptoms sound consistent with the reading because a sensor is around $200.00 hate to waste 200.00 and it don't fix my problem.  I also need to know where the sensor is located and if i could change it out myself.  Any help is appreciated. That is incorrect, the po304 is an engine misfire code, there is a misfire on the number four cylinder and the cause needs to be found, it may be a bad spark plug wire to the #4 cylinder or a spark plug, the #4 cylinder is on the driver's side in the middle of the valve cover.
