Toyota Repair: cam timing, compression stroke, head gasket

i have camry 97 2.2l replaced head gasket having trouble with clarity on cam timing marks. i used small dimple on intake cam and large dimple on exhaust, now engine wont idle and has small lag on take off. timing belt marks are right on.

Hi Bill, why dont you find lierature before doing it? you can damage the engine. ok take you #1 spark plug, turn engine to get Top dead center on compression stroke. now you your intake  and exhaust valves on cyl#1 should be closed.check you marks now.
