Toyota Repair: Toyota Sequoia 2003 rear hatch lock intermittent, toyota sequoia, rear hatch

The rear hatch electric lock sometimes won't unlock.  It doesn't matter if using the key or the unlock switches inside the vehicle.  At other times it will unlock.  What is the most likely problem and where should I look?

Most likely a problem with the lock actuator located inside the door, this seems to be a common problem. try to replace it before it stops working completely because if it should seize in the closed position it's a lot more work to get the door open and to replace it.
