Toyota Repair: transmission fluid, pan gasket, mounting bolt

We are replacing the trans fluid on a 1996 4runner, we drained the fluid and are about to replace the trans pan gasket.  The dipstick is connected to the pan.  How do I unhook it or do I not?

It's a two piece dipstick tube, remove the dipstick and find the upper mounting bolt that holds the tube on, on the V-6 it's 14mm size bolt on the cylinder head, pull the top part of the tube off, on the 4 cylinder the tube is on the opposite side of the engine.
