QuestionHi - I recently put 4 new tires on my 2002 Camry and asked for a 4-wheel alignment.
When I picked up my car, I was told that the alignment could not be done properly
because I needed a new strut seat. I have not
noticed anything unusual performance-wise...so, what is a strut seat, what risk
do I run delaying repair, and why does a strut seat get in the way of an alignment?
Thanks...Tom
AnswerI think what they were talking about were the upper strut mounts which do cause problems on the camrys frequently but there is normally a knocking noise when going over bumps if they are causing a problem, if they are worn the alignment readings may not be accurate.
