Toyota Repair: 99 Toyota Avalon Airbag Light, toyota avalon, airbag

Hi!  My husband was driving my car, backed out of a driveway, and the airbag light started flashing.  He called me right away. I googled for some answers and told him to not count on the airbag working while that light is on or flashing.    What can we do to find the error code?
I think it is wonderful and kind of you to provide this type of service.  Thank you very much for your time.

If the light flashes you most likely have a code stored.
You can go to the dealer or you may be able to get it scanned for free at a parts store, They commonly do that now so youll buy parts there.
I need to know if there is a code in the system to trouble shoot it.
