Toyota Repair: toyota corolla 98 front door, toyota corrolla, door latch assembly

Question
The driver door of my 98 toyota corrolla will not open from the inside.  The handle doesn't seem to be catching.  The door lock and window are manual.  How do I fix this?

You will need to remove the door panel for inspection, look for a broken inner door handle or a link that may have fallen off at the door latch, if everything is connected the door latch assembly has to be replaced, by the way does the door open from the outside?
