QuestionI have a , Standard, Rav4, 1999, 70,000 miles on it and I believe the clutch is catching gears? When I shift gears it doesn't seem to respond and the RPM gauge shoots to 4 or 5 with no response to the speed of the car. What is my problem and what would the cost be to fix as well as, where in NYC is a good place not to get ripped off? Please help if you can. Thank you Diane
AnswerThe clutch needs to be replaced, I suggest you let a Toyota dealer do the repair, they will use genuine factory parts and giv a guarantee, this may be a little bit more expensive but is well worth it, I don't know what the price range may be, I work in southern california but it should be pretty close to what it is there, figure about $750-800.
