Toyota Repair: oxygen sensor wiring, oxygen sensor, sensor manufacturer
QuestionI am helping a friend that has replaced his exhaust on his 92' toyota pickup (i believe are listed as highlander) 22r 4cyl. He purchased a universal oxygen sensor and being that he did not have the old OE sensor to compare wiring with the question now is what wires go where. The instructions call for a signal wire, a ground and 2 heater wires. He did purchase a 4 wire universal sensor. The question is what wires go where? On the vehicle side wiring harness (female) the colors are BROWN - BLACK - WHITE W/RED STRIPE - AND PINKISH W/BROWN STRIPE. Calling the universal sensor manufacturer resulted in the answer that they have NO colors listed as reference with what I suplied. If you can help it would be great.
Thank you
AnswerI could look up the factory wiring and probably tell you where the wires connect but it wouldn't help unless you had a diagram that came with the new sensor that identified the wires for ground, heater, etc. unless you have this diagram I can't help, if you have instructions scan them and send me a copy to my email address(
[email protected]) and I'll try to make some sense of this.
