Toyota Repair: automatic transmission, routine maintainance, slipping transmission

I have a '92 Camry, the automatic transmission seems to be slipping a very small  amount. Is there any thing that can be done to prolong it's life? Other than babying it as I do. It has 273,000 on it. It has never been touched for anything other rhan routine maintainance.

Once there is slippage little can be done, keep the fluid clean as possible, eventually you will need to make a decision whether to keep and fix it or sell it, it's very hard to sell or trade in a car with a badly slipping transmission. There are used transmissions available at some used autoparts places.
