Tractor Repair: 2470 case, powershift, bearings

Question
Can transmission be removed without removing powershift and engine? In other words can I drop the trans out the bottom of the tractor for a rebuild?  Thanks

 If I remember correctly, the transmission can't be removed without removing the engine, but the transmission can be rebuilt in the tractor.  All the shafts, gears, and bearings can be removed without taking the transmission housing out but it's not easy.
