Tractor Repair: Ford 2000 has trouble staying running, exhaust smoke, needle valve
Question Started it up after a couple of months-- started fine then had lots of exhaust smoke and backfiring and won't stay running. I am an amateur, anything I can do with this problem? Thanks!
AnswerHello,
If there is black smoke, it is running too rich. Make sure the choke is opening all the way up, maybe there is a problem with the cable. Otherwise, the carburetor float is sticking or there is dirt under the needle valve.
Good luck,
Arnie
