QuestionI have a 1989 ford model 1920 tractor, recently i changed the fuel filter & since then the tractor lost power & revs.I,ve bled the system & injectors but still won,t rev over 2300 rpm. Can you help? Tony
AnswerHi Tony
I usualy only deal with vintage machines. But the interesting question is that it could happen to older machines as well.
What revs would you expect the engine to run at most modern ones rarely go over 2500 rpm. what does the manual say.
The other thought is you may have fitted the wrong filter which is restricting the flow of fuel !!!--thus the revs as well!!
I looked up on the WWW ford tractor should have a filter ID:FTFF REPLACING AN OLDER VERSION --SBA 130366060.
IF YOU WERE GIVEN A CHEAP REPLACEMENT.
CHECK THE NUMBERS. And let me know how you get on.
