Tractor Repair: egine exhaust, thermomiter, faulty sensor

Question
I have a 1984 Case 4894 and the exhaust temp is reading high. I have checked the air filters and they are clean. What else could cause this other than a faulty sensor.

John I am sorry I can not help on this one as I have never had anything to do with the units you ask about.
The only thing you could do is to get a thermomiter that reads the high temps of an exhaust manifold/turbo and see if the sensor is faulty.
