Tractor Repair: broken rear axle, horse garden, mechanical ability

i have a craftsman 24 horse garden tractor with a kohler motor the other day while cutting grass the rear axle broke where it goes in to the rear end housing i was wondering if it was a complicated repair procedure i have some mechanical ability and would like  to repair it myself          thank you    jerryh

Jerry look I can not really help you there as we do not get the Craftsman tractor in Australia.
If I had a parts break up I should be able to direct you through the job.
I will look on the web to see if I can find a parts break up if I can find it I will  then recontact you but short of this I can not help you with it Jerry sorry about that.
