Tractor Repair: altenator, starter solenoid, internal regulator

Question
I have inherited a 1957 Ford 960.  When the battery runs out of juice, the tractor die.  I'm assuming its because the altenator is not attached to anything via wires.  How do I attach it?

I will need more information to offer you advice -- Does the alternator have an internal regulator?  How many wires are at the alternator?  Does the unit have an external starter solenoid?


If you can respond to these questions I can possibly offer you some direction
