Triumph Repair: Gasket replacement, engine gaskets, exhaust gaskets

I'm restoring a MK3 Spitfire 1969, I going to replace the engine gaskets, do you recommend a particular band or type of gasket sealer?

Hi Ron,
I use a sealer on some gaskets but usually only on one side unless the two surfaces are rough or damaged, then I usually put sealer on both sides.

No sealer on head gaskets unless it is a special reason and a self expanding sealer.

I don't usually use sealer on exhaust gaskets but they do make sealers that can be used in high temp areas.

I use RTV sealer usually unless there are special needs.
