Triumph Repair: 1175 connecting rods, connecting rods, camshaft

sirs - i am going to take out the engine of my spitfire soon, to check on which way the connecting rods are facing - i have been told that the rod caps should face the side the camshaft is on - i rebuilt this engine myself many years ago and it has not run well since ! maybe i put the rods in backward....  any comment?  thanks drewalec

Yes, the rod caps are on the camshaft side. The pistons should have a small triangle on the top and the point should face forward.

What do you mean by "Not running well"? I'm "not running well" but I would guess that my problem and your engine problem differ greatly.
