Triumph Repair: filter between pump and carb, repair books, simple test

Hi Howard, Question I installed that filter between the pump and the carb that you recommended. Is it supposed to be full of gas? Sometimes I see it full other times it's completely empty. Still running but a little rough. Cannot find any answers in the repair books.. Thanks Mark

Hi Mark,
Simple test is to remove the line from the carb and put the line in a jar or can and spin the engine to operate the pump if no gas comes out of the line, the pump is not pumping anything. Air can get trapped in the filter and it can appear as though there is no fuel going through.
