What type oil should be used on a 1973 triumph tr6

Personally I don't recommend using any oil ON a TR6, use a good wax instead.

As to motor oil, I prefer Castrol products.  Depending upon the condition of the engine and your local weather you'll probably want either 10W40 or 20W50 weight oil.
