Triumph Repair: Distributor & Ignition Switch, zenith stromberg, spitfire 1500

Question
I am restoring a 74 Spitfire 1500 and want to upgrade the distributor from stock.  I also want to upgrade to electronic ignition.  What do you recommend?  I have gone to a 9-1 compression ratio and plan to run a fast-road camshaft with the original zenith stromberg carb.  However I plan to later upgrade to a weber.

If the bushings in your stock distributor are ok then the quick upgrade is to fit a Pertronix electronic ignition unit.  

If the distributor isn't in good shape (typical) you can either buy a new "stock" type or go with a Mallory dual point setup.
