Triumph Repair: Car dies after it warms up, eclipse gs, torque converter
QuestionHi, I have a 91 eclipse gs with 170,000 miles on it. When I got it it had a idleing problem. It sounded kinda like it had a vacume leak. I checked and it didn't so I replaced the idle sensor switch and tried to adjust it and the idle screw just right. I have idleing good now but after the car warms up and I turn it off. If I start it again it some times dies or if I come to a stop it dies. Only when it's warm though. One person said it could be that I am loosing fuel pressure. But I changed the fuel pump when I got the car. Any sugestions would be great. Thanks
Answerthis isn't a Triumph question, but, i have seen some problems like this. one was the automatic transmission's torque converter locking up. when it starts to die put it in neutral ( I assume it is an automatic ) if it keeps running that might be it. also fuel injected cars have a warm-up sensor that if it goes bad it will flood the engine. if you can find it it might be bad.
