Triumph Repair: tr6 rims, bolt circle, exact number
QuestionHi Jim,
Jim I was told that the mini cooper rims that are stock on the car will fit on a tr6 with no modifications to the wheels like adapters or spacers. Is that true or is it just wishful thinking?
thanks bern
AnswerBern,
Wishful thinking. New MINI rims are based on a 100mm bolt circle, whereas the TR6 is either 4 1/4" (108 mm) or 4 3/8" (111 mm). I need to check my own references for the exact number.
Either way, the bolt circle is different. Then there is the issue of offset: ie, how far off the mounting flange is from the centerline of the wheel.
So, the quick answer is... no, Mini Cooper rims are not a simple bolt on.
Cheers,
Jim
