QuestionYesterday, my Renault Legauna overheated, head gasket went and damage to the engine. The garage has told me it is cheapest to buy new engine because labour charges on re-building are too large. They have quoted 850.00 seond hand engine, labour 500 and vat totally 1800. Is this fair? Can I do better? Please help as I can't really afford this.
Answercan you get me full car details, I can probably pick up a good engine for £500, maybe less - just need the full details, Date of 1st reg, CC, no of valves, gearbox type.
Reg number would be handy.
