UK Car Repair: fiat punto ABS, wheel car, fiat punto

2001 PUNTO 67406 MILES. Had mot and on driving from garage abs light came on and juddering from front offside wheel. Car stopped and restarted and light goes off then on braking same problem and then light comes on and brakes then feel ok, suspect at this time abs not working. Resistance of wheel sensor checked and same as near side. Reads as a diode. when abs light on brakes work ok.

The light means a problem has been encountered and the ABS system has been disconnected, the brakes will still operate without the ABS feature. There is clearly a problem in that hub/wheel, perhaps a bearing is loose or bad, you need to have it checked ASAP.
