2000 model S40,
No dash lights coming on when ignition key is turned.
power to the ignition switch,all engine relays ok, fuses ok, no head lights, but car will lock&unlock

Answer
The power is from the battery to the ignition switch via the 40A eng comp/t fuse 14, feed is then to the instruments.  Also fuses 1 & 2 in the eng comp't are used.  It may be worth checking the fuses under the dash also if the above are ok.  If still no power you have to get into the ignition switch and test for feeds out, then trace them to the dash.
