UK Car Repair: Jaguar steering wheel, swithes, wooden steering wheel

I have just purchased a half wooden steering wheel for my 1998 XJ8. How do I go about changing it? What about the airbag.

This is a complicated wheel.  FIRST, you have to disconnect the battery   Both terminals, and wait for a minute or two, Now you can remove the column cover )screws underneath, and then start removing the electrical swithes and connections. It is not as simple as you may think. So you may want to find out what a dealer would charge to do it.
