Volkswagen Repair: 79 Super Beetle ECU, steep learning curve, tuning software

If I want to change out my 85.8mm cylinders to 90mm will I need to get a performance ECU. Does any even make a performance ECU for a Super Beetle

 Top End Performance [www.racetep.com/acvwinj.html] provides a complete solution with tuning software, but it's pricey because it provides dual carb replacement. Not what you are looking for I think.  If you are VERY electronic and mechanically inclined, Megasquirt [www.megamanual.com/index.html] provides a kit which is a totally custom, but there is a STEEP learning curve.  It can be used with almost any hardware.  The good thing is if you successfully go with Megasquirt, you will know more about fuel injection than 99.99% of the humans on this planet.  I have never tried it, but am seriously considering it for converting my 71 Super to fuel injection.
