Volkswagen Repair: 2000 VW Jetta, vw jetta, obd ii

Just today my car stared shutting off just after cranking up.  I thought it was the battery and tryed to jump it with not luck.  It will crank now after jumping but will shut off after only 3-7 seconds.  What could be the problem

 It's hard to say from just these symptoms.  My guess would be a fuel delivery problem.  If you are getting a "check engine" light, the best thing to do is get an OBD-II diagnostic scan to pull the error code from the car's computer.
