Where is the sensor connection on the head where the wire connects on Volkswagon Golf?

Hi Dave;
I didn't think it was on the cylinder head.  I think it's right on the cylinder block, immediately next to the oil cooler, right where the oil filter goes...ie. just above the oil filter.  What year Golf?  I'm thinking about a 1999 or so.  The engine code would be "AEG."  Hope this helps you find it Dave.
