Volkswagen Repair: vw bus, wayne hope, foam seal

Question
I recently put a new foam seal around the engine compartment. I drove it for about 25 minutes and the engine seemed alot hotter then before. Should I be worried?

Hi Wayne;
Do you have any idea what the before, and after temps. were?  I think the Eurovan's, and the Vanagon's all came with some kind of material surrounding the engine compartment to reduce engine noise in the cabin.  However, I don't know if the Microbus ever had anything like that installed as factory equipment.  Did you cover a vent, or a "breezeway?"  I'd go back, and check to make sure that nothing is covered up that isn't supposed to be.  Sorry about the double negative, but I'm in a rush....
Check with the local library where you live, and see if they have a service publication you can use as a reference.  Good Luck, Wayne.  Hope this helps, a little.
