Volkswagen Repair: Brake warning light blinking, brake warning light, jetta tdi
QuestionI changed the rear pads on my 2001 Jetta TDI this weekend. There were some issues bottoming the pistons and there was a bit of rust around the hubs but after a few hours the job was completed. I bled the brakes and reconnected everything but now the Brake Warning Light blinks after I have stopped or slowed down, it will go away after a few seconds but comes back everytime I'm accelerating after having slowed down. As well the Check Engine Light has come on now. I thought this would go away after a short break in but it's been 3 days.
P.S. I've had the brake switch recall done on my car
AnswerHey Pete, I don't know how you retracted the pistons on the rear calipers. Did you turn them as you compressed them...I mean there is a specific tool that turns and compresses the rear pistons, it does both things at one time. Is this the type of tool you used?
