Volkswagen Repair: A/C, jetta gl, catalysts

My name is George from Chicago.I have a 99 Jetta GL and need to repair the A/C. How Much does it cost? And also they told me that the catalyst converter doesn't work, what does that mean and how much it costs?

A dealership diag will normally be $100 diag and depending the problem will be $100 dollars an hour to fix.
A catalyst can be $400 to $800 depending on what engine you have. Installing without diag and readiness is around 1-2 hours depending on how rusted your car is. Catalysts have a long warranty. Your car may not be out.
