Volkswagen Repair: starting problem, starter moter, digifant

1989  golf gti 8 valve digifant

when i try to start my car the starter moter does not turn over the engine properly it sounds as though it is geting stuck straight away or something its seems like it is not doing a full rotation and makes a sort of low screeching sound as though its stuck .ive tryed a new battery of my other car but it still does the same, could the engine be seizd as i havent started it 4 a couple of mounth .i would apperciate any info that might help thanks

Samuel, thank you for your question.  Yes, it is possible that the engine is locked up but more than likely what is needed to be done is to drain the oil out and the coolant and replace both of them.  Also what could be going one is bad fuel, or a bad electrical connection to the starter or battery.  Can also be a solenoid to the starter is going out.
