Volvo Repair: 9470 STEERING RACK, center rack, happy new year

IVE GOT A 940 VOLVO AND IT FAILED THE MOT WITH TO MUCH PLAY IN THE NEAR SIDE FRONT INNER TRACK ARM AND WHEN IVE LOOKED IN GETTING A REPLACEMENT THERE IS A LIST OF RACKS (CAM, ZF AND SIMI-KOYO) IS THERE ANY PARTICULAR WAY OF TELLING THEM APART. IVE LOOKED ON THE RACK AND THE ONLY THING I CAN SEE IS THE NUMBERS 8063051 9930-7.

   Look for the manufacturer's logo on the main (center) rack body. Some are interchangeable with only the mounts being different and you can reuse the old ones. O'wise give the Volvo parts dept. the VIN # off of your chassis, and they should be able to tell you. HTH
