how do i get my window up if the motor goes out?

  Chris, if the motor is out. You have to pull the door panel, unbolt the glass from the window regulator and push it up. You will need to rig something to keep it there.
  You didn't mention Model or Year, but you probably just have a bad window switch. Very common. Typically, when motors quit, they just do nothing, not work one way and not the other. HTH
