Volvo Repair: 1999 volvo s70 keyless entry, volvo s70, volvo dealer

I just purchased a used keyless entry remote for my 1999 volvo s70.  Can I program the remote myself or do I have to take it to a Volvo dealer?

Jennie, in a word, No.  I hope there was a code with that remote you bought.  Without it, its useless even if you have the dealer do it.  You will have to buy a new one from the dealer with a code.  I went through this with a customer recently.  Sorry, Roger
