Volvo Repair: 1999 S70 GLT running rough, poor gas mileage, s70 glt

I was stopped at a red light very low on fuel and my 1999 S70 GLT started sputtering as if it was running out of gas  and the check  engine light came on. I made it to a fuel station filled it up and when I started my car it continued to run very rough. Loss of power and poor gas mileage and vibrating when trying to accelerate. I thought it could be the filter, so I changed it, but it is still running rough. Could it be the fuel pump? Do I have one or two pumps? Is there an access port through the trunk?

Dale, I wish you would have asked before changing things you dont need.  The ol fuel filter trick doesnt work on these cars.  If you were to have the car scanned I would bet it would tell you it has a misfire code on 1 cylinder.  Its most likely a coil pack.  Its very common on 99- cars for those things to go bad.  Have the car scanned and see which cylinder is misfiring.  May also be an injector but highly unlikely.  Roger
