Volvo Repair: volvo 98 s70, emergency program, condition thanks

145,000k mi's-arrow light & check engine lites on-arrow flashing-manual says gear box problem-is it safe to take on a 150 mi roundtrip prior to getting to mechanic following day? Is there anything I can easily do to correct problem &/or have car safe to drive on trip? Advice needed ASAP regarding further driving in this condition. THanks so much.

you can drive so long you don't feel any abnormal problems most likely you problem with transmission sensors t or pnp switch that    needs service the car is emergency program now until you fix it i don't thing you will have any problems only that you will feels  slow  response on gas pedal and shifting delayed that normal  you are in emergency  program good luck
