Volvo Repair: 1998 V70 AWD 4 dr station wagon, v70 awd, release lever

Question
The trunk lid/tailgate will not open.  I've tried using the key, remote, driver's side trunk release button and nothing works.  I've pulled the panel and removed the plastic piece with the level, can work all the pull rods by hand but can't get anything to trigger the lock.  What should I be doing next?  THANKS Gary

you need lock assembly  so you will have to damage it  to get open  the lock comes with all parts and motor as  unit  so best way is go buy  t gate lock   and just take look at the new look were the release button is for lock . or you can try  you  see those metal push rods go to the lock one of the is what release the lock so of you can find that  just push with some long  screwdriver  on the tab it will open if not you have to brake the lock .best way  for you to find out which metal lever it the release lever let somebody work the handle  and you just look from inside were it pushes sometimes you will have to move the tab on the lock  sideways to able to push  on it .i cant help you much on this but  you can give it  a try
